All together now? Reflecting on the co-creation of climate action and adaptation support tools by local governments and researchers

17 January 2019, 11:00 - 12:30

City leaders and practitioners across Europe are rethinking their policy programmes and setting up new initiatives to adapt to the impacts of climate change. But local climate adaptation is a complex policy area requiring diverse forms of knowledge – not just from scientists, but also from citizens, business, civil society organisations and staff in many municipal departments. This means trialling approaches which go beyond ‘business as usual’, to incorporate local knowledge into scientific research, and in turn to apply new knowledge effectively in decision-making.

In this webinar, municipal staff and researchers from Slovakia, Germany and the United Kingdom will share their experiences working together to co-create tools and methods supporting action for local climate adaptation – in particular for assessing risk, and for selecting and prioritising adaptation measures.

Join us to find out:
• How the project team designed and implemented their co-creation process(es).
• Lessons learnt for research and practice.
• Impacts on cities’ local adaptation work.
• How the resulting tools and methods can support your city.
