Culture and Sustainable Energy: Today and tomorrow
Time: 9.30am
Brussels, Belgium
- Brussels Office of Tallinn: European Capital of Culture 2011 Breakfasts at Sustainability's are small informal meetings hosted by Bxl Representations of regional & local governments. Topics covered are related to sustainable community development that are essential to public authorities, ranging from climate change issues to waste management, land use, water issues, clean transport, green energy and many more. On 15 September, climate change and energy security will be put under the microscope. Both areas require urgent local climate and energy action - by people using technology and changing their behaviour and switching to clean fuels. Our European cities and towns - with their beautiful historic town centres, existing and new building stock, multiple roads - face multiple transport and energy challenges. Many of these can be solved by improving energy efficiency and using renewable energy. The speakers will include a representative from Hamburg (Germany) the Green Capital of Europe 2011, who will talk about renewable technologies and a representative from Malmö (Sweden), who will discuss how to change the behaviour of citizens and make the switch to clean fuels. Join our energy and city experts and enjoy a great discussion on the real meaning of a sustainable energy culture. Downloads: B@S Programme [115.1 kb] |
