Members support the work of ICLEI through both their membership fees and their experience and creativity in the development and implementation of projects and campaigns that address the globe‘s biggest problems. National and International Network of Peers
Members meet at workshops, seminars, and conferences around the world, and exchange their experiences through electronic mailing lists, online conferences and newsletters and publications. A membership directory - enabling members to identify contacts across the world - is accessible through the members' lounge.
Campaigns, Programmes and Projects
Opportunities to play key roles in the design, piloting and implementation of ICLEI's campaigns and projects. Members can benefit from international exposure through ICLEI's dissemination of news and products, and continuous advocacy and fund-raising activities.

Conferences and Training
ICLEI organises the exchange of experience and helps to build the knowledge and capacity of local government officials through training and consulting as well as events and networking. ICLEI members can frequently profit from reduced participant fees for major international events.
Advocacy
ICLEI is a leading advocate for change, representing local governments to national and international governments, agencies and organisations in order to increase the understanding and support for local environmental protection and sustainable development. Members benefit by defining the content of ICLEI's advocacy efforts and participating in an international movement for sustainable development.
National and International recognition for work
Full Members earn national and international recognition for their work at both ICLEI conferences and through participation with ICLEI in numerous UN events - Conference of Parties (COP), Commission on Sustainable Development, Habitat II, etc - as well as through project reports, case studies, newsletters and other publications and products.
Funding to travel to international meetings will be provided for ICLEI Members when available.
