Global Learning Forum 2017 to discuss transition to renewable energy

Over 400 leaders from local governments, the private sector, and NGOs will gather at Renewable Cities’ Global Learning Forum 2017 in Vancouver (Canada) to discuss the transition to 100 percent renewable energy. Workshops and plenary sessions will see debate on pathways to achieve renewable energy powered electricity, heating and cooling, and transportation in urban areas. The event will take place from 17 – 19 May.

Participants will have a chance to meet and learn from international policy and technology innovators in Vancouver, a city that’s committed to 100 percent renewable energy. Asked what attendees can expect from the event, Zachary Shahan, Director of CleanTechnica, said: "Previous Renewable Cities' Forums I've attended have placed an emphasis on practical implementation lessons, information, and specific suggestions from other forum participants.”

Renewable Cities, the programme behind the event, supports cities to transition to 100 percent renewable energy and to improve their energy efficiency. The Global Learning Forum is the organisation's signature vehicle for bringing together leading cities, innovators, companies, researchers, and groups to discuss urban solutions.
