Have your say: what cities need to achieve climate neutrality

The 100 Climate Neutral and Smart Cities Mission Platform, supporting the work of the 112 mission cities towards climate neutrality, is now extending part of its support to any European city aiming to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 at the latest. But as cities embark on their journey towards climate neutrality under varying conditions and at different stages, our experts need to assess cities’ needs in order to tailor support.

In this context, ICLEI Europe, as a key partner of NetZeroCities, which coordinates the Mission Platform, has developed a survey to best assess cities’ support needs. This needs-assessment survey is open between 11 April - 17 May. By sharing insights, cities have the chance to play a crucial role in guiding the development of the Mission Platform initiatives, ensuring they're tailored to meet the unique needs of each local community.

The Mission Platform, managed by the NetZeroCities consortium, offers customised advice and support to cities, enabling them to achieve their climate objectives. It aims at enhancing cities’ capabilities through strategic innovation experiments, leveraging local ecosystems, and fostering connections with various levels of governance. The support provided is specifically designed for cities throughout Europe, dedicated to progress towards climate neutrality, irrespective of their current level of commitment.

Whether cities are actively pursuing ambitious climate goals or are at the initial stages of exploration, the program offers invaluable access to information and support to propel their efforts forward.
