European Heritage Hub

2023 - 2025

The European Heritage Hub is an EU funded pilot project bringing together heritage stakeholders and initiatives across Europe to support the transition towards a more sustainable, digital and inclusive society. It is a two-year pilot project launched in May 2023 by a consortium of 21 partners, led by Europa Nostra and co-funded by the European Commission, to set up a permanent and autonomous knowledge, networking and advocacy platform for cultural heritage in Europe. The project brings together a large array of heritage stakeholders and initiatives, responding to the need for a more structured cooperation and coordination at all levels of governance, from local to European and international. The European Heritage Hub uses the concept of ‘triple transformation’ as an overarching theme for all its activities aiming to:

  • Foster synergies and cooperation between existing heritage actors and initiatives.
  • Advocate for holistic policies and more structured coordination at all governance levels.
  • Connect the heritage world with citizens and local communities.

The triple transformation framing highlights three strands of transformative change: green, digital, and social, which are all central to the Hub’s mission.
